About

Explore Cascina Pomina 18 in Vignale Monferrato, formerly Azienda Agricola "Scamuzza." Since 1971, it has transformed 40 hectares into a thriving vineyard, crafting wines like "VIGNETO DELLA AMOROSA" and "Bricco San Tomaso."

Cascina Pomina 18, nestled in Vignale Monferrato, is a testament to winemaking passion and heritage. Originating as Azienda Agricola "Scamuzza" in 1971, Carlo Bertone transformed 40 hectares of land from the Barozzi family into a thriving vineyard. The transition from cereals to vineyards marked a new era, cultivating Barbera, Grignolino, and Freisa. The inaugural wine, "Baciami Subito," was born in 1973, initially for family consumption and friends. In 1988, driven by a commitment to quality, the cellar underwent renovations, adopting glass-fiber and steel wine vats, ushering in a new era of genuine and quality wines. The Barbera grapes underwent traditional vinification, aging in oak barrels, resulting in "VIGNETO DELLA AMOROSA," a mature Barbera del Monferrato Doc. The journey continued in 1991 with a high-trained Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. The fusion of Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon gave life to "Bricco San Tomaso," a sublime Rosso del Monferrato Doc. From the same hill, "Tumas," a Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese Doc, emerged in 1992, celebrating the region's traditions. The estate expanded in 1996, acquiring "Lo Spallone," an old Barbera vineyard. With love for the land, Cascina Pomina 18 produces "Baciamisubito," a vibrant and youthful red wine, bridging the past, present, and future with evolving tastes like the seasons.
