About
Meet Azienda Agricola Possa, where Bonanini's passion for Cinque Terre's viticulture shines through chemical-free practices and rediscovered ancient vines.
In the heart of Cinque Terre, Bonanini Samuele Heydi has cultivated a winery that defies the norm. Since 2004, Azienda Agricola Possa has thrived on 55,000 square meters of terraced land, echoing the region's rich Roman winemaking heritage. Bonanini's commitment to counter-current choices is evident in his focus on ancient, almost forgotten local vines, avoiding the commercial route to preserve a local biodiversity treasure. With 19 native varieties flourishing under his care, the winery offers a modern twist to wines with traditional local wood barrels like acacia, chestnut, and cherry, not just oak. This eco-conscious approach extends to high-pressure steam cleaning to minimize environmental impact. The labor-intensive, machinery-free terrains elevate the essence of handcrafted wines. As Bonanini envisions a "chemical-free" future, he also plans to embrace renewable energy, starting with solar power, to lead a sustainable revolution in winemaking.
