About

Ceretto produce Nebbiolo and Arneis grape variaties. Beside of Barolo Ceretto winery owns vneyards in Barbaresco, Nebbiolo d Alba, and Langhe Arneis appelations

The Ceretto winery was founded in the 1930s: Riccardo Ceretto, who did not own any vineyard, vinified the grapes he bought. The turning point comes when his sons Bruno and Marcello enter the winery, with their innovative thinking for the time: the importance of the land. Although today it seems obvious, the memory of the poverty of rural life in the Langhe - so well described by Beppe Fenoglio in his novel "La Malora" ("Ruin") was still alive, and Riccardo was reluctant to invest in the purchase of land.
