Wine Shops

About

Formerly owned by Marquesses Cavalcabò and later serving as a tavern, this building has been transformed into a wine cellar since 1969.

It quickly established itself as a pioneer in Rome, known for its exceptional selection of wines such as the renowned Picolit. After the passing of Mr. Domenico Buccone in 1980, his wife Maddalena expanded the offerings to include specialized food items like pasta, honey, and jam. The interior of the store exudes charm with its furnishings from the early 1900s, including inlaid wooden counters with marble tops and high wooden shelves stocked with a variety of wines, liquors, and food items. The space is further adorned with brick arches and four large wrought iron chandeliers. The walls feature prints and paintings celebrating wine culture, while antique mirrors add warmth and allure to the store's ambiance. Buccone is a proud member of both "The Wine-sellers' Art Association" in Rome and the national association "Vinarius," where Vincenzo serves as a councilor. Throughout the years, this store has also served as a backdrop for several films, including "Paolo Il Caldo" and "Metello
