It is widely believed that during the Roman Empire, Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony arrived in Egypt before the beautiful Cleopatra, bringing wineskins of "vinum aquense" that were greatly appreciated by the Queen and thought to rekindle the passions of her fabled lovers.
A clear line that passes through geography, history, and shared traits appears to connect the "VINUM ACQUENSE" to the present-day Brachetto, who is proud to claim the title of his ancestor given that Acqui Terme and its district were already home to him at the time.
