About

Come visit "Il Carrettiere" restaurant, a beloved establishment that has been serving Sicilian and seafood dishes, as well as unique pizzas, since 1971.

Paolo and Maria, opened this pizzeria in the historic district of Sant'Agostino in Como. Renowned architect Giorgio Calcagni brought their vision to life using his expertise in renovating public spaces.

Today, the corner of Sicily can be found on via Coloniola, thanks to Calcagni's transformation of the former friary's convent and wine shop into a timeless public place that still exudes warmth and charm.

The rustic Slavonian oak furnishings, hand-sculpted chandeliers by Monguzzi, delicate glass lamps creating elegant light patterns on the walls, colorful ceramics from Santo Stefano di Camastra, an antique Sicilian cart once used by Mariano after a long day of work in the fields, paintings by Puleo and bronze sculptures by Ghinelli all bear witness to the millions of customers who have enjoyed their specialties over almost four decades of service.
