About
A magical restaurant with traditional cuisine overlooking Lake Como.
Since the mid-1800s, Hosteria del Platano has been a significant landmark for travelers on foot or horseback along the eastern shore of Lake Como towards Valtellina or Switzerland. Initially a post station, it provided necessary blacksmith services to repair horseshoes and satisfy hunger and thirst with hot meals and fine wine. As time passed, it evolved into an Inn offering lodging and dining options, eventually transforming into a tavern and tobacconist in the twentieth century. Despite multiple name changes and management shifts over the years, this establishment has always remained open, upholding an important tradition that reflects the culture of the lake's villages even today.
