Kabulàgna: this restaurant embodies the merging of two cultures, two worlds, and two cities that may seem distant on paper.
Jan, an Afghan of Hazara ethnicity who has been in Italy since 2007, has fulfilled his dream of opening an authentic Afghan eatery in Bologna - a city he now considers his home after a long journey. The name "Kabulàgna" was first introduced in a 2010 book where Jan was interviewed as an asylum seeker. Together with his wife Farzana, they run the restaurant with the help of migrant workers who not only contribute to the delicious cuisine but also share their own experiences. Like many others, they are searching for a new place to call home and expand their rights.
