Taverna dei Caldora occupies the wine cellars of an imposing 16C palazzo in the old town of Pacentro, surrounded by narrow streets.
In addition to spaghetti with saffron and truffles, this restaurant celebrates regional cuisine to its fullest. Pizza dolce is the Abruzzese version of zuppa inglese. It is made of sponge with alchermes to give it the bright red color, while the pastry cream and chocolate make it impossible to refuse.
