About

Pizzeria Starita's history, passed down for generations, started in 1901 in the Materdei district of Naples.

Alfonso Starita's decision to open a wine cellar and a place to taste traditional foods eventually led to the transformation into a fry shop and pizzeria. By 1954, they were already a must-visit spot in Naples and its surroundings. In fact, they were selected to provide logistical support and manpower for the filming of L'oro di Napoli. Over the years, Antonio Starita has dutifully continued the traditions of their Materdei pizzeria. As one of the founding members of the Association of Centenary Pizzerias, he has worked tirelessly towards achieving EU recognition for Neapolitan pizza as a traditional specialty.
