About
The love for cheese in my family dates back to 1920, when grandfather Alessandro first began introducing farmers in the Bergamo hills to a variety of cheeses.
He traveled with a horse-drawn cart and introduced them to cheeses that were not traditionally produced in their region. This tradition was carried on by my father Luigi, who set up a permanent stall on "Ponte di Santa Caterina" in the 1940s. In 1969, I opened our current shop on Piazzale Oberdan. At first, they offered only eight to ten types of cheese. However, as time went on, he expanded their selection by visiting mountain pastures and introducing new cheeses from outside their region. To ensure their products were of the highest quality, he even attended courses in cheese making. Now, after almost 50 years of research and sourcing from both small farmers and modern dairies, they are proud to offer over 130 different types of cheese mostly made in Italy. The tradition continues with the help of his sons Paolo and Simone.
