Located in Venice, Ai Mercanti is a hidden gem that combines the ambiance of a French bistro with authentic Venetian cuisine.
Originally opened in 1980 near Rialto market, this establishment was named after its location. In 1996, it relocated to calle dei Fuseri near San Marco and expanded its menu to include haute cuisine. However, in 2013, under the leadership of chef Nadia Locatello's son Simone and his wife Ania, Ai Mercanti underwent a transformation inspired by the concept of "bistronomy" - a fusion of bistro and gastronomy. This resulted in the creation of a unique gastro-osteria in Venice, offering high-quality dishes at reasonable prices.
