The Cantina tipica Mando:cc restaurant originated in a medieval castle located in Castelnuovo di Assisi.
In 2010, the castle was partially acquired by one of the heirs of the Di Girolamo family, known as Mando:cc. This led to the creation of a hotel and cellar restaurant within the castle grounds, where Umbrian-produced aromatized wines are featured alongside traditional Assisi cuisine, resulting in a sophisticated blend of flavors. The prestigious Di Girolamo family with its nickname Mando:cc has passed down their rich agro-wine tradition through generations since 1800, producing wines, hemp, oil, legumes, wheat and orchards. This tradition continues to thrive today thanks to accounts from descendants and preserved manuscripts.
