About
Chicco di Grano is situated in CastelMella's "Fienile del Mella" farmhouse, a familiar place to manager Alessandro Bonera.
He fondly remembers a time when farming and animal husbandry were the primary and most important activities in the countryside, while playing in these rural spaces was one of the most enjoyable pastimes. After pursuing his studies and becoming an accomplished chef, he has now teamed up with his nephew Davide Magri, a young and innovative chef, to take over the management of " Chicco ". This pairing is a perfect fit: Alessandro, utilizing his experience as a renowned chef, oversees welcoming guests and managing the dining room, while Davide applies his creative talents as the chef at Chicco di Grano. Both come from prestigious backgrounds in the city and province, but also value their roots in simple and humble peasant traditions that are upheld within the walls of this restaurant. They believe in combining their high-level expertise with traditional cooking methods, using basic ingredients to create contemporary dishes that showcase Chef Davide's exceptional skills. The rooms at Chicco di Grano have been meticulously restored by Alessandro's father, who is passionate about restoring antique furniture.
