About

Situated on an inlet of Lake Como and surrounded by verdant foliage, Villa Pliniana is a stunning structure nestled into the rock.

The nearby Colorée Valley stream cascades into the lake after a 70-meter waterfall. Built into the bottom of the lake, the villa is anchored to the rock on both its upstream and front sides. A grand loggia divides the main floor, which houses spacious halls, a reception area, billiard room, dining room, and kitchen. At the center of the courtyard stands a statue depicting Neptune with his trident. On one side of the loggia sits a rocky face that serves as an outlet for an intermittent spring whose waters flow through the villa before opening up into the lake through an arcade on its facade. A beautifully carved spiral wooden staircase leads from the main floor to the upper suites, while an elevator provides convenient access to all levels from the parking lot. Recently restored to meet contemporary standards while preserving its original charm and details, Villa Pliniana now boasts redesigned interiors by renowned designer Patricia Urquiola, who also designed sister property il Sereno.
