About

A church named after a woman from the 13th century houses the leathery remains of her.

Despite being about four feet tall, this tiny saint appears relaxed through the glass of her gilt coffin. She smiles in an approximation of a smile as her leathery skin pulls back from her pearly teeth. After a short life of devotion, prayer, charity, politics, and miracles, Santa Rosa (Saint Rose) died at the age of 18 in the 13th century. She is revered today for her incorrupt body, which lies in the church that bears her name.
