About
As a Holocaust monument, the train station where Jews were sent to concentration camps has been preserved.
Initially, trains carrying mail were loaded and unloaded on this train station. However, between 1943 and 1945, it assumed a considerably more evil character. During the Shoah (Holocaust), Jews, leftists, homosexuals, and the disabled were rounded up and placed onto cattle cars, leaving them to be transported to Nazi death camps from platform 21 in Milan's Central Station. After that, they were trucked off to other deportation locations like Fossoli and Bolzano or concentration camps like Auschwitz, Mauthausen, and Bergen Belsen.
