About
It produces warriors that may very well have had a fighting chance in Rome's pits during the Roman Empire.
Off the beaten path on the Appian Way lies the Gruppo Storico Romano (Historic Roman Group), bearing witness to one of Rome’s most amazing feats for over two decades. The founder and driving force of this organization is Sergio Iacomoni, better known by his cohorts as "Nero," who hatched the concept of a gladiator academy while employed at the Bank of Italy with four of his colleagues. Rather than entertain more conventional pursuits, these imaginative friends brought to life authentically designed elderly Roman suits and challenged them in the Colosseum on a Sunday morning.
