About

Rome's architectural fantasy quarter.

Quartiere Coppedè, located in Rome's Trieste district, is a truly remarkable sight. Built by Florentine architect Gino Coppedè between 1919 and 1927, the 31,000 square meter area is an eclectic blend of Ancient Greek, Baroque Roman, Mannerist and Medieval features. The Art Nouveau palaces throughout the quarter feature colourful floral motives, mythological symbols and medieval details. Tourists can spot plenty of original creations by Coppedè himself such as Venetian palazzi decorated with external mosaics and frescoes, a sundial or a building which resembles musical notation due to its ironwork carvings. A visit to Quartiere Coppedè is sure to be an unforgettable experience!
