About

Owners and guests of this 500-year-old, allegedly cursed house often meet terrible fates.

Ca' Dario is a Venetian Gothic palace dating back 500 years, and has been linked with some horrific occurrences. It's said the building only brings misfortune to those who own it or stay in it for more than 20 days - death, murder, an economic downfall being among the consequences. Even local fishermen avoid anchoring their boats nearby due to this structure's notorious reputation – “the house that kills”. Built in 1479, it was once owned by aristocrat Giovanni Dario, before being passed on to his daughter Marietta and her husband Vincenzo – both of whom died tragically afterwards. In addition to Marietta's suicide, Vincenzo was stabbed and their son Vincenzo Jr. killed in Crete by assassins.
