About
Vintage dolls are given fresh life in a hospital.
In the Piazza del Popolo's cobblestone alley, a window displays chipped porcelain heads, limbs, and dolls in disarray. An outsider may mistake it for Rome's own 'shop of horrors' - but to locals, Restauri Artistici Squatriti is an 'ospedale delle bambole', where Federico Squatriti and his mother Gelsomina bring broken objects back to life. Perched atop the haunting paraphernalia are small menacing owl figurines that keep watch over their repairs.
