Must See Places

About

The connection between these two seemingly unrelated concepts is essential to understanding this Tuscan hill town's history.

Considering that plaster figures and emigration are so far apart, it seems impossible for one small museum in Tuscany to explore such a topic. Coreglia Antelminelli was famous for its intricate figurines made of gesso, or plaster, produced by around 30 factories in the area during the 18th and 20th centuries. The molds were used to shape mythical figures, artists, leaders, and religious icons.
