About
The Tuscan mountains have their own window to the sky thanks to a massive natural rock arch.
Despite towering over quaint villages, Monte Forato doesn't completely block the sky. A great arch appears to have been carved directly into the mountain, a circular portal to the heavens. A natural rock arch creates an opening that is about 80 feet high. It connects the mountain's twin peaks and even gave it its name ("forato" means "pierced" in Italian).
