About
The museum in Fondi is also said to be the most haunted building in the city.
The Jewish Medieval Museum is located in Fondi, about 62 miles (100 kilometers) south of Rome, in a district that was originally known as “La Giudea,” or the “Jewish District”; at different times in its history, Fondi provided a safe haven for Jewish communities, otherwise threatened and persecuted across the neighboring Papal States. The building located at the end of Via dell’Olmo Pereto might have been the local community’s synagogue.
