About
In the heart of an Italian town, there is a hidden statue of the renowned Austrian musician.
Despite the fact that most people are familiar with August Rodin's bronze bust of the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, few are familiar with this majestic, life-sized statue in Dobiacco. The statue was created by Bojan Kunaver as the centerpiece of Rathausplatz. Mahler's music is best known as a bridge between traditional Austro-German compositions and modernism. The 10 symphonies he composed over his lifetime are also remembered.
