This archaeological site, which was built into a tuff outcrop, contains a necropolis, rock cottages, and the remains of a medieval castle.
There is a lesser-known nature reserve known as “Monumento Naturale di Corviano” located between Vitorchiano and Bomarzo in northern Lazio, covering over 70 hectares. A high volcanic plateau separates the valley below from the site by high cliffs, which have served formidable defensive purposes for centuries.
