About
Within this Italian fairytale forest lies a magnificent Neogothic tomb.
This forest's twisting trees and stones are carpeted with moss and lichen, giving it a fairytale feel. An eerie Neogothic mausoleum sits in the middle of the trees, adding a sense of otherworldiness to the area. The castle of Torre Alfina and its surrounding forests were purchased by a banker named Edoardo Cahen in the late 19th century. His family was rumored to have received titles (marquises) and royal support during the Italian Risorgimento.
