About
This gallery, which Cardinal Spada ordered, is renowned for its stunning optical illusion.
Rome's Regola neighborhood is home to the majestic but little-known Palazzo Spada palace, which is situated in the heart of the city's ancient zone. It has a remarkable art collection (Galleria Spada) that includes pieces by artists like as Guido Reni, Titian, Guercino, Rubens, Caravaggio, and Artemisia Gentileschi, to name a few. The two Cardinal Bernardino and Virginio Spada brothers put together the collection in the 17th century. Visitors are welcomed by the remarkable Mannerist stucco façade as they approach the structure, which features ornate and extravagant architectural embellishments.
