About
Works created to blend in with and eventually disappear back into their natural settings can be found in an outdoor museum in a mountain valley.
The Trentino district of Valsugana contains the tiny valley known as Val Sella. Despite lacking any significant villages, it is dotted with small groups of hotels and cottages and is home to one of Italy's most unique art gardens. Local painters started displaying their works in the Val Sella forests in 1986. Due to its popularity, the one-time exhibition was expanded to a biannual occasion. However, it wasn't until 1996 that the display was made permanent, and a route known as the Percorso Artenatura was created specifically to guide tourists through the singular sylvan gallery.
