In this unusual museum, there are more than 5,000 puppets of different kinds.
Founded in 1995 by Antonio Pasqualino, a surgeon and anthropologist, the International Puppet Museum was established in 1975. Puppeters abandoned their careers for something more lucrative as the economic and social landscape in Italy changed in the 1960s. The association founded the museum with the goal of revitalizing the puppetry scene in Sicily.
