About
This tower from the Middle Ages will eventually collapse into the water.
Torre Flavia is a ruined military fortification built on the beach near Ladispoli, Rome. It was part of a coastal defense system set up by popes Pius IV and Pius V in the 16th century. In 1943, the fort was bombed by the Allies, partially destroying it. Nature has not been kind to the ruins, either, as they are located on the beach and are subjected to erosion caused by the tides.
