About
All that remains of the medieval castle of Vernazzano is this leaning tower.
As the tower leans perilously above the village of Vernazzano in the Italian region of Umbria, near the battlefields of the Second Punic War, it lies near Lake Trasimeno. As a result of erosion, the village gradually abandoned during the 18th century. The tower is one of the few remaining structures from a prosperous and sprawling medieval village that once called the region home.
