About

Meet the weirdly preserved mummies that make up this Italian hamlet's oldest residents.

Venzone is one of the most extraordinary examples of architectural and artistic restoration in Italy. It was rebuilt stone by stone exactly as it was in the Middle Ages thanks to its fortifications. The city is popular today because of the mummies housed in the former Chapel of San Michele which date back to the early 1300s.
