About
On Monte Pellegrino, there is a cave shrine.
There is a small light yellow façade carved into the mountainside overlooking Palermo, a hazy coastal town in Sicily. Despite looking simple, the façade is actually the entrance to the Santuario di Santa Rosalia, a 17th century religious structure. The Santuario is located on Monte Pellegrino, one of Italy's most fascinating religious structures. Built in 1625, the Santuario di Santa Rosalia extends 25 meters into the cave and features both a church and a convent.
