About

In Rome, there is a monumental fountain with a large statue of Moses that has been criticized for centuries.

This large monumental fountain, also known as the Fountain of Moses, marks the end of the Acqua Felice Aqueduct in Rome. The inauguration of this aqueduct, which was built in the 1580s, was a historic event as it was the first new aqueduct to be constructed in Rome for many centuries. In Italian, the word “felice” means “happy” or “lucky” as well. It is derived from the birth name of Pope Sixtus V, Felice Peretti.
