About

Visitors have been blessing this huge figure before exploring his body for hundreds of years.

The colossus of San Carlo Borromeo, located in Arona, Italy, is one of the largest and most impressive religious statues in the world. It was built in the 1600s as one of a planned network of chapels devoted to Saint Charles Borromeo, and is still standing today, over 230 feet tall and 12 meters wide. The statue is made from hammered bronze, and stands on an almost 12 meter tall granite pillar.
