The Aniene river is a key tributary of the Tiber which flows through the Regional Park of the Simbruini Mountains. It can be observed cascading down at the picturesque Trevi Waterfall, surrounded by lush vegetation and various archaeological remnants. This part of Italy was previously referred to as Comunacque, and it is believed that around the 1st century Rome's water supply may have been sourced from here using an aqueduct called 'Anio Novus'.
