Must See Places

About

A full moon illuminates this crescent-shaped beach.

There are no two cliffs on the volcanic island of Ponza that look the same due to its rich chromatic composition. More than 300 feet (100 meters) above the turquoise-colored sea below are sheer vertical white and yellow tuff cliffs that dominate the crescent-shaped beach of Chiaia di Luna (Half Moon Beach). According to locals, the cliffs reflect lunar light back onto the waters below during full moons.
