About
Majella National Park contains a statue of Archangel Gabriel and the remains of a small rural church.
One of the largest caves in the Sant'Angelo Canyon may have been home to an ancient rural church, but there is little knowledge about its history. Like the nearby hermitages associated with Peter of Morrone, the hermit who became Pope Celestine V in the 13th-century, the site is a great example of rural and spectacular hermitages in Abruzzo.
