About
Only twice a day, one of Italy's largest bell towers plays a particular tune.
The tower, called Torre Bissara, is a tower located in Vicenza near the city’s Basilica Palladiana. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city and one of the tallest bell towers in Italy. After surviving a strong earthquake that hit the area in 1348, it was renovated during the 15th century and increased in size to its current height. A World War II bombing damaged the structure in 1945, but it was rebuilt in the following years and has undergone a larger restoration project since then.
