About
A former mining community that is now an outdoor museum.
Serra Moddizzis mine workers lived in Asproni Mine Village between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th centuries. Founded by Giorgio Asproni (1841-1936), the mine was a fully functional village with all the amenities of a small town. The town included an elementary school for miners’ children, a post office, a church, a grocery store, a little hospital, etc.
