Italy's largest silver deposit once existed there.
The abandoned mining town was one of the largest silver sources in Italy between 1874 and 1935. It is eerie to see the vegetation take over the buildings. Some of the buildings' interiors were painted by Austrian prisoners during World War I and are still well preserved despite being exposed to the elements.
