About
Giuliano Mauri designed a natural cathedral.
Giuliano Mauri, an Italian artist, was celebrated for his "natural architecture" of large-scale environmental art seamlessly blending organic materials, such as branches. His passion for wood and nature spurred him on to construct outdoor living cathedrals with trees grown in the form of walls and a roof. His first endeavour in 2001 created the foundation for his grand masterpiece--the “Tree Cathedral” or “Cattedrale Vegetale”--which was erected near Trento, Italy in 2010. This remarkable piece serves as a memorialization for the artist who passed away in 2009 and his dedication to creating captivating works of art.
