There are still secrets being revealed by Pompeii's less famous neighbor.

Vesuvius' epic eruption in August of 79 devastated the Roman towns surrounding it, causing death to fall on everyone in its path. On the north side of the volcano, Herculaneum, a small but wealthy village buried a few days after Pompeii, had more time to panic and evacuate than Pompeii.
