About
The remains of a medieval settlement that was abandoned following a fire in the nineteenth century.
As the Simbruini mountain range unfolds, you can see the ruins of Camerata, a medieval village. The residents of this high-altitude village fled when a catastrophic fire broke out in one of the houses on January 9, 1859. The flames spread through the village within a short time, consuming whatever stood in their path, forcing the villagers to flee.
