About
Originally dedicated to an emperor's wife, this temple is now a church.
In the Roman Forum, an archaeological site in the center of Rome, the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina is located. In 141 CE, Emperor Antoninus Pius began the construction of the temple to honor the memory of his late wife, Faustina. Following his death, it was dedicated to him and became the Church of San Lorenzo in Miranda. The building was converted into a church in the 7th century.
