About
The Roman Empire's historic snack bar reopened.
Since 79 AD when the city of Pompeii was engulfed in ash, the Thermopolia, or ancient fast-food eateries, have been closed. In 2010 though, one was opened once again for public use. At its peak, this Roman city had an impressive 150 of these long bar-shaped restaurants to choose from! So popular were they that cooking food at home was unnecessary for most; dining out was the way to go for those without a personal kitchen or funds to get one.
