Sculptor Tullio Lombardo dedicated this incredible masterpiece in 1525 to Guidarello Guidarelli, an official of Cesare Borgia, more than 20 years after his murder at Palazzo Monsignani in Imola. In the centuries following its creation, the monument was legendary throughout the world. Legends say women who kiss the statue are married within a year, while spouses will eventually have children as beautiful as the Guidarelli.
