One might not think of medieval torture devices and modern human rights abuses in the same breath, but the Medieval Criminal Museum in San Gimignano offers a unique combination of the two. It features an impressive collection of macabre objects - from inquisitorial chairs fitted with spikes, to “the heretics fork” - amid the stunning Tuscan countryside.
