About
Plaza Pretoria, also known as Piazza Pretoria, is a significant and picturesque square located in Palermo, Sicily.
The centerpiece of the square is the Fontana Pretoria, a grand and elaborate fountain originally constructed in the 16th century. The fountain is adorned with numerous statues and figures, showcasing intricate Renaissance sculptural work. It’s often referred to as the "Fountain of Shame" due to the nudity of some of its statues.
Surrounding the fountain are several historic buildings with notable architecture, including the Palazzo Pretorio (also known as the Palazzo delle Aquile), which houses the City Hall.
